I do wipe my mac also at new OS, but you have a bug…
you just have to remove audirvana, restart the mac to see that it disappear from the privacy panel, then put it back in application and restart to reload the pref of local network, and see
Super simple to try and takes 2 minutes, you just tried to toggle the switch on/off to date. My thinking is to make audirvana to disappear from the list there, then like a new app that ask the question to see then if it will stick… after a restart
That’s interesting, will dig into the log files from macOS and Audirvana to try and see what is going on. For me it is every time after rebooting the computer and opening Audirvana I am locked out of network endpoints. I am at my desk so my MBP is connected via Ethernet to the router. Will see if connecting via wireless makes any difference…… Thanks for the information!
No same result on wireless. At the moment I have not restored my old data and DB so it is about as clean an installation of the OS and 2.9.2 as I can get. Quick question, do you use any third party firewall on macOS? Also do you turn on the inbuilt macOS firewall?
Maybe my configuration compared to yours is triggering the issue……
According to your screenshot you are using an earlier version of Audirvana, the entry is just Audirvana in your firewall, mine is Audirvana Studio (see screenshot). I am using only AS 2.9.2 which is the only version that prompts that the OS has not granted permission to Audirvana to access local network devices. Here is my config, as you can see the macOS firewall is set to allow incoming connections to 2.9.2 yet as you can see from the screenshot the issue constantly occurs when first opening AS after a reboot.
I have latest Audirvana Origin, not Studio
And also latest Audirvana 3.5 as you can see in my picture… origin does not use a network to connect like Studio, except once a month for me to check license.
If the message you get always is from the firewall pref or the network pref this is not the same thing as the local network pref i think?
No i think it is macOS as other software users are reporting the same issue (Roon user posts on endpoints going missing, as well as more general issues reported on Mac forums with NAS devices and other devices connected to local networks).
I have tried AS with and without an entry in the firewall (AS and Origin does not need an entry by default). Also tried with the macOS firewall disabled so any incoming connection is allowed. Same result
Yes Sonoma works fine. As this bug only occurs once per computer session after a reboot it really is not a big deal. Not bothered by it. At least Audirvana instituted the check in 2.9.2 and Origin to alert users to toggle off and on local network access to guide users to the temporary solution. I still see posts on the Roon forum with users having local network problems after update to Sequoia, the toggling off and on of local network access is the response from their moderators. Audirvana’s check built in to 2.9.2 enables the user to resolve the issue quickly without browsing the forum for a solution.
