Audirvana 3.5.38 on Mac 10.15.6 crashes when I play 88.2 multichannel (5.0 or 5.1). The crashes are reproducible and happen with all the 88.2 multichannel files that I have. Skipping to the next file always triggers a crash. The same files play without problem in VLC and JRiver. There are no problems with 88.2 stereo, or 5.1 at the other sampling rates that I have (192, 96, 44.1).
Any ideas? Is this a known bug?

UPDATE. I switched output devices in Audivana, switched back, changed the speaker configuration in the system Audio MIDI Setup, changed it back, and now the tracks play without crashing. In theory, I changed nothing, in practice, it works. 
UPDATE 2. Now it’s back to consistently crashing on all 88.2 multichannel. 
UPDATE 3. Reducing “max. memory allocated for pre-load” to its minimum of 256MB postpones the crash
