Audirvana Crashes only when playing Tidal on Win10

Thats the thing, there is no dmp files even made when its crashing. Even before it was rare that it made one. Is there any other solution? I can give you the logs, they are quite busy at the time of this particular crash from last night. But most the other crashes have at best 2 lines of entries saying “fatal error”.

I just tested the latest version 3.5.45 and now everything works and tidal tracks don’t cause it to hang after a while . Thanks and very good fix.

The log are important since it will indicate what is happening with the output when you go from one track to the other. You can send it to support@audirvana.com

I am on trail. And getting a little concerned with how long its taking to fix the windows 10 tidal issues. I have send all my logs and detailed information like many others. Any update please?

Is there any progress with this? Several of us are still having these issues, and it’s hard to tell if its Win10 related or just a bug/s in the application. I sent support a long email detailing this, but haven’t heard a peep back about it. Whatever is going on is bad enough that using it this weekend I had three BSOD because of it and simply gave up using it out of frustration.

Any update here would be appreciated!

Any update on issues with windows 10 and Tide? I am getting concerned that this App is a hobby for a one man band, and not a business! Have been for a long Easter break!?

Hi @Antoine, I sent you some dmp files from three crashes that I had. While I think they are totally unrelated, when Running Replay gain I am also having crashing pretty frequently.

Agreed. Tidal has become unusable on audirvana over the last couple of weeks.

While i’m not defending Audirvana’s coding at all, I think that Tidal has now applied traffic shaping to several peoples accounts. Checking the way the files work and download, instead of sending full songs they are sending files in chunks. This is causing the files to download about 30sec of audio in chunks at a time. In my case, the chunks will hang on delivery of anything after the first 30 seconds and even causes my native Tidal app to fail. This issue only seems to appear when using Master/Hifi, and lower qualities seem to download in full like the FLACs used to. Tidal’s app seems to be designed to handle this better, but its still not good, track seeking breaks it almost 90% of the time now. I have opened a support ticket with them about this as my account in Master/Hifi mode is almost completely unusable.

On the Audirvana side, I think this boils down to there is no defensive code in the software that can handle failed file delivery from Tidal, and this causes the app to become unstable. I could be wrong about this, and I will let Damien comment to that, but I am pretty certain this is what is going on.

Would love to see both fixed as the two working together make for one amazing sounding product!

I sent this message below on the 10th , heard nothing from support. I purchased a Apple mac mini, and still same issue with mac version!

I found when select tidal quality high MP4 play at highest 16bit 44 work most of the time, and skipping tracks works. But only plays 16bit 44.
If I select max frequency up sample rate and set to 48 or 96 or 192 pcm and bridge 48 or 96 or 192 , select track one by one play song, but if skip track doesn’t play song.
BUT if I select the Samsung wifi bar it works on 16 bit 44 and upsample upto 192?

If I set Tidal to lossless Flac ands play Flac Tidal, 16 44 and set 16 bit 44, plays one song , select track one by one plays song 7 out of 10 times sometimes able to skip tracks forward to max of 3 times , but most time cannot skip song on hegel.

If start at bottom of album and skip back 9 out ot 10 times works on hegel and samsung!
But not if you start at top of album and skip forward, doesn’t play song on Hegel most of the time, unless playing MP4 . On the Samsung , can start at top of album and skip track, but sometimes misses a track and plays next one. Roon had same issue a couple of weeks ago playing tidal, but they fixed tidal tracks skipping or not playing at all not available

I have checked my Firewall setting and turned off all network antivirus protection, still same issue. I can play fine from Bubble upnp app to hegal mqa no issue over wifi. Skipping tracks no issues at all.

When connected via usb from Audivana to dac, works fine. Also play my personal flac files over network upnp to hegal and Samsung bar , no issue either.

So oddly I get a Qobuz account because Tidal is doing the same to me as above on my Mac and my PC even on different internet sources. So its legit something with Tidal traffic shaping. But now Qobuz has crashed Audirvana three times on me in a row. All it takes is skipping a few tracks, or sometimes just play one. Tracks will have like 14s play length, the next one might play fine, or not at all, and the app is toast! No crash dump is created either. Just this in the logs.

These are crashing Tidal, then reopening and going to Qobuz and crashing.

I am about three quarters my way in on the 30 days trial and not one day where Audivana has worked! Can I ask a serious question. How many people work for Audivana development and support? Or is the founder\owner still the only person working full time developing and supporting Audivana?

I’m hoping that if it is just Damien that he can figure out whatever it is. The audio is amazing, trying to use qobuz and Tidal with it, when they work sound so much more alive than their native players do. It’s something they have done with the SOX sampling that takes the audio to a whole new dimension.

Here is the logs of clicking the same Qobuz over and over. Is there some advanced debug mode that can be turned on here to know what is really happening? This just makes no sense to me.

With that said I can’t even play an entire song with Qobuz even. I have clicked on the same song on over and over, and each time I get a different track time. Sometimes its 1:27, the next it might be 0:09s long.

As you can see the same tracks time keeps changing each time I play it. Below is screenshots and the logs that corresponds with it. Hoping this helps. Qobuz doesn’tt seem to fatally crash the app like Tidal does, but its still not working at all!
