Audirvana do not scan my Music folder on my Synology Nas

I am on the last MacosX; the NAS is a Synology DS918+. Audirvana does not scan the Music folder even though I can add the singles subfolders individually. I know that the forum is aware of the issue, but apparently, I didn’t find any solution. Thanks for your help.

I have seen a number of posts on tech forums with issues with NAS systems after upgrade to Sequoia. This adds to the “known network connectivity” issues Apple has notified Universities about. There are several posts on Apple support forum and Synologies forums on this, obviously getting the latest software from Synology is a first step and checking permissions.

Only thing I would suggest is go to system settings/network and deactivate the network interfaces (Ethernet & WiFi) for 10 seconds or so then reactivate and then try syncing from Audirvāna and see if that works.

Only real solution whilst waiting for Apple to fix the known network issues is to downgrade to Sonoma. This will involve a wipe of your system….obviously this requires a fair degree of computer literacy before attempting to ensure you don’t lose data.

The latest 15.1 Sequoia update has solved my local network problems with AS - lost UPnP connections and poor pre-load. Simpler than reverting to Sonoma.

Still have the issues with endpoints disappearing in 15.1. No mention also of any network fixes in the developer release notes for 15.1. Couple of USB fixes in 15.1 which have helped users who were experiencing USB issues. Worth a try before a downgrade but I have seen people reporting NAS issues with 15.1.

I was only reporting that my Mac OS 15 problems seem solved (reported elsewhere in these pages) - trying a simple update from 15.0.1 (which didn’t work for me) to 15.1 (which did) seems a lot easier first step than reverting to Sonoma. Just saying

Agreed its a good first step.

I passed to MacOsx 15.1, but nothing happened. I am still not able to synchronise Audirvana and my NAS Music folder.

That’s s real shame - it won’t help your current issue but 13312MB is far too high a buffer setting for 16Gb Ram.

Many thanks for your help

Hi @Clauzeus,

Are you able to access those folders using Finder in macOS?

Yes, I do. And I can add to Adirvana the single subfolder of the Music folder without problems. However, until now it is the synchronisation of the general Music folder that doesn’t work.

Hi @Clauzeus,

Can you go into the Audirvāna settings and in the My Account section? You will see a ‘Start Log Session’ button; click on it and reproduce your issue. After you reproduce it, click 'Stop Log Session’ and send me the audirvana_studio.log file you can find by clicking the 'Open Log Folder’ button at [email protected]
