Audirvāna for LINUX and NAS (QNAP/Synology) officially released

It probably is another setting in the Audirvana app. Settings > Audio > The last tab at the bottom reading ‘DAC Input’. ‘Do not use RAW PCM’ and maybe the other two. Did you try that?

tried all 3 … nothing :frowning:

I think you should start a log session, try to play music to your Marantz, stop the logging and send the log to support, together with an explanation of what you tried.

I’ve tried, I received an answer (very basic), then nothing from days … I’ll try again

Hi @Andrea_Riela,

How did you get so many network interfaces detected by Audirvāna? Have you made any changes in your NAS network settings?

I have a NAS with 2 VMs and multiple containers. But the bundle interface (2x10Gb) I use is the QVS1 … that I can see, but I can’t select in audirvāna.

I will need to check this with Damien next week; sorry for taking that long.

in the meantime my trial period will expire for sure :frowning:

No worries, I will extend it

Have you tried rebooting of NAS? My major problems are solved by rebooting.

yes, at least twice

I have the same problem installing Studio on my Synology DS1515+ Running DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 6. Has anyone managed to get this to work? If so which Synology models successfully run the Studio package of Audirvana without problems?

My Synology logs show:
System successfully started [Audirvāna Studio].
System successfully stopped [Audirvāna Studio].
So I assume my Synology model is too old.

Rebooting didn’t help here either.

I found I have a problem which I cannot access to my lilbrary after a while rebooting. When I reboot, I can access to the library for a day or more, but after that, I cannot access to the library. I run Aurdirvana for QNAP.

audirvana-studio-x86_64-2.8.2.2.spk for Synology now close scan “ALSA output”??? DSM7.2 can support USB DAC , how to open scan?

If you see a USB DAC device in Synology information center , it can be driven normally:

#Needs to load the driver first
modprobe snd-usb-audio
#Modify hardware access permissions
chmod 666 /dev/snd/*

Two functions were missing to make this solution attractive in connexion with Diretta (IMHO):

  1. Playing DSD (.dsf files) is not working
  2. Using Diretta device still requires going through the ALSA layer. Direct usage of the MemoryPlayHost service is not possible. The latter solution is much better in terms of sound quality.

Any timeline to integrate such functionalities ?
Thank you

Hello, I was able to install audirvana studio in a Ubuntu VM running on Truenas, even though I cannot consider it problem free process, I can play music to my streamer supporting UPNP.

problems I faced:

  • after some time I had to restart audirvana service, since my ipad could not recognize the server
  • UI definitely needs some more love, e.g for the dac selection, if I left my streamer turned off, I could see only empty grey screen, some info like ‘no devices found’ on the screen would improve the usability
  • I had hard times syncing local folders (exported via samba to my VM), although the IOS app was showing ‘syncing folder’ nothing happened. After few service restarts/reboots I was able to re-initiate synchronization manually. Since that moment all worked for new folders

This is a problem that seems to happen sometimes with SMB mounted drives. I hope some more attention to SMB mounted drives will be given.

At last it worked pretty well, thanks.

Though, the reason I’m not renewing my subscription at the moment is the issue with continuous playback, where Audirvana stops playing after 2-3 tracks, even if there are more on the playlist. I believe this happens because the iPad screen turns off when there is no interaction. I haven’t found any settings in the app affecting this.
Hopefully this problem will be identified and addressed soon.

No, the iPad has not an influence on the playback, since it is a remote for the computer or NAS where the Audirvana software is running. Take a look at the log file if there’s any clue in there. Settings > My Account > Open log file in the app.
