Audirvana not finding devices

Audirvana not finding devices

Hi. I’ve installed the trial version of Audirvana on my 2019 iMac running the latest version of Catalina. Installation appeared successful but when selecting the Device icon my Devialet Classic Phantoms running DOS 2 (2.8.5) fail to appear in the list. The Phantoms were purchased as a pair 18 months ago and I believe have the latest hardware. I have checked that the Phantoms and iMac are on the same Wi-Fi network and have restarted both the Phantoms and the iMac in case this was needed in order for Audirvana to see the Phantoms. Unfortunately these actions haven’t worked. The Phantoms do appear in the iMac audio output options as ‘Living room’ and if selected the Phantoms stereo group name ‘Living room’ does then appear in Audirvana devices DAC option list and information becomes available e.g. 24bit/44.1Khz. The Network option in the Devices pop up is set to Wi-Fi. However this seems to be using AirPlay rather than UPnP which I want to use for hires and no options appear to allow configuration of UPnP. My aim is to use my Tidal account, which links and shows correctly in Audirvana, to play hires through the Phantoms. I have tried the IOS MCONNECTHD UPnP app and this seems to work correctly with the Phantoms but is not as well presented as Audirvana and if I can get it to work I would prefer to go down the Audirvana Remote app route. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Problem solved via support from Devialetchat forum folk. For any others experiencing the same issue of Audirvana not ‘seeing’ their Phantom(s) the solution for me was:

  1. Obtain the IP address for each phantom you have. e.g. 192.168.0.14
  2. Enter the IP address into Safari and this will bring up a Devialet Phantom configurator web page
  3. On the configurator page locate the Wi-Fi tab. Check that it already has the correct Wi-Fi network name and then enter the Wi-Fi password into the relevant dialogue box.
  4. Click SUBMIT and with a bit of luck you should see ‘Success’ feedback.
  5. On quitting the Safari page you are offered the opportunity to save the password.
  6. Repeat the stages 1-6 for both Phantoms if, like me, you have a stereo pair
  7. If you then go into Aurdivana and bring up the Devices Dialog box you should find that a new option has become available in the Network section. In my case it was the name of my Phantom stereo pair. Selecting this then made the Phantom pair available and for me solved the initial issue.

Hello @Pwalder, thank you very much for sharing this precise reply. Since you made another post about it i will close the other one and make a topic about the connection issue with DOS2 and the solution you shared. I will definitely quote your solution since it would probably help a lot of people who would encounter this issue.
