Stop !
So… What is the point of this post in the context of the Audirvana Community Forum?
I guess that the point of the story is that new technologies make Audirvãna obsolete in the opinion and the ears of the writer.
And in that case he/she/them made the right choice to skip Audirvãna. I assume the message to all forum members is that we should not be blind for other options than Audirvãna.
Speaking for myself I am always looking for ‘affordable’ gain in SQ. The fact that I have started a Tidal subscription two months ago (and skipped Tidal again last week), try all kinds of apps over and over again (Bubble UPnP, USB Audio Player Pro, MConnect, JRiver, Roon, native Naim/Focal app, Qobuz mobile app, Qobuz Windows App et cetera) and I keep coming back at Audirvãna is proof enough to me that in my set up the nicest and best sound comes with Audirvãna. And I accept the flaws that come with that.
There is nothing new here… There have been proprietary systems available for years…,.
The subjectiveness of an assertion of ‘sound-quality’ leaves this commentary rather moot and reeking of hubristic self-serving intent which is better served to a different audience… Why should we care if somebody prefers a different systematic playback scheme that is not Audirvana-centric? Those that understand the nature of digital-audio file playback, more-likely-than-not, know there are alternatives… Many use stand-alone file players, but they don’t come on the Audirvana User Forum to pontificate like this…
Hi @PAPACBE
I like a bit of tinkering here and there but this going too far for me.
I prefer to sit back, listen to to music, read a novel or history of the Third Reich. It’s fun. I promise you.

Dans les 15 prochaines années tu apprendras que même si ton streamer te montrais que tu jouais du 24-96, ces services de streaming te faisait écouter des mp3 au lieu de vrai flac, même si c’était écrit sur ton écran 24-96…
Origin… plays MY song… and it sounds REAL good
Play me my song
Here it comes again
I know, but I can only presume that OP thought this was the place to do so.
But the community is for Audirvãna Users, not former users if I read the introduction correctly… So OP is wrong about this being the place…
According to some, reading while listening means you’re not giving the music your full attention, bad boy!
That’s absolutely true. “Bad boy” I am. My only excuse is that I’m conducting the music as I read. Frequently pausing the reading as I get lost in the music.
[As an aside - Imogen Cooper says when she is reviewing her recordings in the sound booth she finds herself walking up and down conducting.]
