Audirvana Studio volume control issue / Mac M1 UPnP

Hi,

I’m streaming from Audirvana Studio to my Marantz PM7000N through UPnP. Using MacBook Air M1. I have serious problems with volume control… If I touch the volume slider one bit, both the slider and volume level of my amp usually goes right up to the maximum level, which is very loud. Same thing happens if I touch the volume controls of the laptop. This is more than annoying, 'cause I would have to be very careful not to touch any volume controls on my laptop and only adjust the volume directly from the amplifier. There’s no difference if “Software Volume Control” is enabled or not…

Audirvana also shows my UPnP device (amp) five times on the device list, sometimes just one.

I have not tried the studio version with my M1 Mac air yet.

I usually use the Marantz remote for volume control.

As far as it showing up 5 times.
It shows one instance for every input on the device.
I reported it to Damien 16 months ago when I got my pm7000n.

I just tested this on Audirvana 3.5.46, and volume controls are working perfectly! Both Audirvana 3.5 software volume controls and MBA “hardware” volume controls (F10 mute, F11 volume down, F12 volume up) are working as they should.

As the problem persist on Audirvana Studio, this is one more reason to stick with old Audirvana 3.5 instead of paying for new, less-performing app! I definitely won’t pay any subscription fees until severe bugs like this are fixed…

Same issue there. MacOS 10.14.7, Mac Pro, Audirvana Studio (last), MinimServer, Technics SL-G700, UPNP. When I try to use the volume slider, it “pops out” from under the cursor and goes to 100% on its own. I thought I was going to lose my speakers.

Have you tried to put the maximum audio volume limit to right side to see if you still have the issue?

Yes, of course. I’ve tried everything. That said, no matter how the volume sliders (both) is positioned, the speakers scream as if there were never any limits. Always 100%.

SU-G700 integrated amp (with volume control).

On the SL-G700, the setting is “Fixed” (maximum) volume level. The volume change occurs on the SU-G700 (the motor turns the volume knob). Thus, the command to change the volume is sent from me to the SL-G700 and through COAX to the SU-G700.

Any other application will normally change the volume in this way.

Are you using other software at the same time that stream to your device?

Exactly the same problem as mine (described on the first posts). I also contacted Audirvana support by email in June (support@audirvana.com), but haven’t received any response. Because of this issue I’m not using Audirvana Studio anymore. Old version is working fine.

Last time I ran Audirvana just to take a debug. At that moment I had the IOS application Technics Audio running.

Previously, only Audirvana was running while the video was being shot. The slider jumps at 100% no matter how many or what apps are running. The volume knob on the amplifier just goes to maximum even if Audirvana has been closed and re-opened.

You took the debug with the max allowed volume to 0, when you are at 100 you said you have the same issue?

I have the same issue (I sent the info to audirvana support and a video showing the issue) . I am on an Intel MAC with UPNP . The problem is there since almost the launch of AS with at least 2 equipments (Devialet Phantom I and Advance Acoustics wtx microstream) .

Yes, i took the debug with the Max allowed volume: 0. The video shows that when “max allowed vol” = 0, the volume decreases to zero and cannot be raised. When “max allowed vol” is set to any other value (> 0), the slider goes to 100%, ignoring “max allowed vol”. I set “max allowed vol” to zero for safety reasons.

Unfortunately, 1.8.1 does not solve the problem. Same.
