Don’t worry, Audirvana needs to sell subscriptions. I’m confident that if the product does not improve dramatically, they will offer new discounts next year. Maybe a family pack…
No subscription, just lifetime license:
$100 for new lifetime license
$50 for upgrade from 3.5.
On a subscription base: €40/year
This is what makes me feel is a fair price right now, at the current state of the software.
I am a user of Roon since their start in June 2015, and I use Audirvana even from an earlier date.
I use Audirvana exclusively for streaming (via UPNP) HRA content, and here the software does a fair job now. I hope Audirvana really improves so that the €70 asking price is a fair value to costumers next year.
If the product does not improve dramatically, I don’t think Audirvana need worry about a family pack. ![]()
Would not sell much at those prices. As jt is, Aurdirnana is suffering from a signifcantly reduced user base. You can only raise prices so much – what needs to happen is Audirnaa needs to sign up more users. Otherwise, Damien and Manuel better start looking for day jobs.
This is the way to go, IMO too.
If you’re looking for something that cheap you should consider the free options.
This is the reasonable price. AS offers little more than A3.5, and it is not worth more than that. A good positioning is the key of success for any commercial prouct.
Not necessarily. They can make it a community software like MusicBee.
I was surprised to see that MusicBee has an efficient library management. It excels in the display of bios, plays integration with HQPlayer like Roon, and much much more… All this is done by talented programmers that contribute to its development.
Audirvana also has some professionals programmers as users. If it becomes a community software, it can improve quickly and be very succesful.
Sure, it’s a fact. List, please, what AS has to offer that A3.5 does not have, and that would justify a higher price.
If it became community software, then wouldn’t Damien and Manuel need day jobs or another source of income?
better sound
better look (and with a huge monitor like mine the fonts are not so small)
radios
podcasts
For me the Qobuz 3 months voucher worked even if my account was nor new (maybe an error?) so I’m very happy with AS (I pay almost nothing with discount offer and Qobuz 3 months voucher).
Unfortunately, there’s no Qobuz in my country.
I don’t know how this kind of economic model works, but there must be a nucleus of one or two developers, who are in charge of the project, and who live from it.
In any case, Manuel is overhead!
All these are small additions that may justify the price of an upgrade as @lucretius suggested, but not a new and an inflated pricing.
The Website of Manuel states that he is a business accelerator of startups. He will continue to accelerate other startups, rather than startapps.
In other words, he will continue with his day job?
What I understood from his Website is that he has the ambition to be involved in other startups too, not only in Audirvana.
He’s not going to get too far with the Studio software alone – maybe he can bring in an infusion of capital?
