Fair enough - though I sometimes wonder… is it really that the average Joe is so uninterested in higher quality, or he has just never experienced it?

do you think that in the future DSD could be natively supported (say in Win11 and/or a new USB4 protocol, thus eliminating the need for DoP in KS?

No because KS is like WASAPI and we can’t change this, they both only can be used with DoP and the only way to get DSD Natively is by using ASIO.
