Doesn't look bad at a first look!

This is a re-post of my post in the Audirvaña announcement thread.

Which now is a double post, as it has been moved to this thread. Sorry for the confusion - wasn’t me!

Thanks for the Origin version! Could be for me finally.

Question:
How can one sort the albums in the artist section? There is an option, but I can not add a criteria.

Suggestion:
To me it would be great to have the Various Artists section somehow seperated, preferable at the end of the artist list.

Dislike:
The title bar within an artist’s section, a chosen album, the playlists, etc. To me this is a waste of space, especially within an artist’s section. It collapses a bit when scrolling down, but there is nothing there except of the artist’s name and a placeholder for a picture. The artist’s name could be written in a small bar on the top and extras could be added in a seperate window or alike. It should all be about managing and playing music, shouldn’t it?

This is not possible for the moment, the default sorting is by release date but we had request to have more capabilities for sorting this view but I can’t confirm you a date of realease for this.

Ok, I understand the point and note it

It should, I understand your point and will talk about it with the team next week.

@Allerwertester, I’ve been saying this for years, even with 3.5. Those of us who don’t have use for a forced, gigantic, dead, rectangular space, taken out of the interface by useless color blobs or a Wikipedia entry, about the artist, might like to actually have something there that would make it easier to browse and find our music! What a thought!

There used to be an optional column browser in Audirvana Plus, but it was replaced with the useless blob. Say what you will about Apple, but they at least listened to their user base and brought it back quite swiftly, after they attempted to do away with it, a few years ago.

I got your point as we talked about it earlier this year but can’t guarantee you about it for the moment.

Thanks for the candor, @Antoine.

Until the software works for my use case, in my setup, I will keep my money.

To be clear, if the software did what I needed it to do, I would be pretty likely to both buy a license for Origin AND pay for an AS subscription, for use with steaming services.

Of course, they would also both need to work with UPnP, which also has not been my experience.

Then there’s something wrong, propably with my album tags, although they seem to be correct. I would love to have the sorting be by year. Which exact tag is Audirvaña reading? There might be a problem with older tags?

Could at least be the sorting with the oldest on top? I love listening to an artist’s complete catalog starting with the oldest album, which seems to not be possible at the moment.

Works well with my set-up: M1 Mac with Audrivaña. The music is on my NAS which is connected via Ethernet to my KEFs with build-in DAC. Audirvaña on my Mac addresses the KEFs via WiFi. No problems so far.

  1. Interface just as ugly and un-intuitive as Studio
  2. Won’t play my music - " Unable to open an audio file for playback"
  3. 99€? - yeah.
  4. Bye.

But don’t hold back, tell us how you really feel :joy::rofl: You left out the really odd name choice  Not that it changes the usefulness but it’s just awkward.

Studio 1.12.2 wouldn’t play my locals , same error message

After a re-start the albums show up sorted in the Audirvãna order. Propably was some hick-up, Audirvãna had during importing process.

Still it would be great to have at least the option to revert the sorting from new - old to old - new.
