Dropouts with Merging+NADAC

Yes, Damien, the memory usage behavior as described in the Activity Monitor screenshots above was identical in version 3.5, as were the dropouts before turning off Exclusive Access mode. The only improvement was the duplicate DSD512 error in the application’s Audio System preferences pane; in version 3.5, DSD256 appeared where it should.

Since you are using MacOS it seems to be DSD over PCM related. Wheter you try with DoP 1.0 or 1.1 you have the issue?

Interestingly, Merging recommends using “Automatic Detection” instead of DoP 1.0 or 1.1 in their Audirvana configuration guide (found at https://confluence.merging.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=9338957). However, in their general installation guide, they mention using DoP 1.1 for use with software players such as Audirvana. I’ve never tried DoP 1.0 or 1.1, but I will now and report back if memory usage changes.
