DSD not supported

Hello I’m using YBA A200 amplifier that has a DAC which supports DSD256. However, when I connect my Windows 10 desktop with USB cable it says DSD not supported. Any solutions?

In Audirvana, have you selected ASIO in the audio output settings?

Je profite de ce post pour évoquer un problème similaire, je suis utilisateur d’Audirvana depuis des années (avec bibliothèque Itune) et récemment je suis passé au FLAC et DSD. Aucun problème avec les FLAC mais impossible de lire un fichier DSD, malgré tous les réglages que j’ai pu glaner sur ce forum. Pourtant lorsque j’utilise l’application “Colibri Test”, je peux lire des pistes en DSD64, 128 et 256, mais uniquement en mode PCM, ça ne marche pas en Dop ni en mode DoPA.

J’ai bien activé le mode DSD → PCM 1.0 ou 1.1, pas de suréchantillonnage. Dans les préférences Audio je vois que le format d’entrée est DSD64 et en sortie PCM 32/384KHz, donc j’ai converti séparément une piste DSD64 en WAV(PCM) 32/384KHz, et je peux la lire sans problème avec Itune.

Ce qui est “bizarre” c’est que l’appli Colibri me donne des fréquences différentes en fonction du DSD

DSD 64 = Core Audio 176,4 KHz / Channel 176,4 KHz
DSD 128 = Core audio 176 KHz / Channel 352,8 KHz
DSD 256 = Core Audio 176,4 KHz / Channel 705,6 KHz

Et tout ça est lu normalement par Colibri. Donc pas de raison qu’Audirvana Studio ne le fasse pas aussi. Il y a un truc qui m’échappe :slight_smile:

I think what @bitracer is trying to tell you is that all volume control has to be at 100% (except your amplifier of course) to reliably use dsd on many equipment. So DAC and Audirvāna have to be set at 100%

Dans les paramètres du DAC de Preference audio j’ai bien DSD62 et 128 activés pour le DAC (MHDT Orchid. Mais je suspecte ce dernier de ne prendre que du 32/192 max. Lorsque Colibri fonctionnait, dans les options AUDIO-MIDI du MAc j’étais réglé sur 32/192 Hz.

Yes, I like the TDA 1541 chip :slight_smile: I shoult receive a 1541 double crown soon.

Probably a very nice NOS DAC, but not compatible with DSD.

I’m afraid you’re right ! I’ll get an other one jus for DSD. I don’t care too much High res files, but always interesting to compare. And it turns out to accept only 32/192. This explains why.

In the DSD playback settings, just select « Covert to PCM«.

Try this method before you change your DAC

I don’t intend to change this NOS Dac, just to have an other specifically for DSD, if necessary.
32/192 is more than enough for me. I can convert the DSD to this format.
It works with the option “convert to PCM” but with a lot of background noise. PCM 1.0 or 1.1 don’t work.

Anyway my problem is purely related to the DAC, so thanks for the help, Nothing can be done.
