Hmm… How did you measure your room and come to the conclusion you have a peak around 100Hz?
Audirvana does allow Qobuz streaming and if using VST DRC and/or EQ it will affect what is sent to the streamer… So, yes you can/may get some sonic benefits…
It is really a toss up as to wether the Mac with VSTs would be better than the purpose built streamer for sound improvement… You would most likely have to try it both ways and see which sounds better to your ears… Would be tough to A/B properly though…
I am trying to wrap my head around this… You don’t have the streamer and you don’t have Audirvana and you want to know if they work together… That is a question for the folks at Audirvana @Antoine and Linn to answer… I don’t see Linn on the plays with list…
I also don’t see a professional/audiophile quality solution for free DRC and EQs although you can search for these yourself… Here are a few convolvers to check out… A comparison of convolution engines | Audio Science Review (ASR) Forum
If you want to go down the rabbit hole with DRC you might watch this very informative video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfGAUvyvdNU&themeRefresh=1 by Mitch Barnett…
1: I can measure it using REW. I can do a room simulation in REW also. That’s how I know.
2: No, I want to know if AudirVana can sound better when NOT using a dsp plug-in. So, if AudriVana can do some things digitally better then my Linn streamer?
3: I have a Linn Majik DS streamer;) I don’t have AudirVana.
4: Maybe a REW convolution filter will work in AudirVana…? (But I have to look at this)
5: Thanks for the links in your other reaction I’ll go look at it.
I see a couple of posts around the web from people saying Audirvāna will play to their Majik streamers, so on that point you should be OK.
Does Audirvāna still have a trial period (30 days or so)? If yes, perhaps just try it and see if you like it.
Yesss… I believe that. The question is: Will it play using dsp plug-ins?
I’m pretty sure it can and yes, I can take the 30 day trail, but do not want pay €50-€100 for a EQ/DSP plug-in.
This is also part of “the problem”

Exactly what my suggestion would be. Thx!
This is something that is a very subjective experiential assessment that only you can make in the context of your playback system environment and set-up.
1 - Good to know that you are using REW…
2 - Unknown and difficult to A/B properly so would be subjective with your ears…
3 - Its nice to finally find out what streamer we are actually talking about…
4 - And yes, REW can create FIR filters for use in convolvers for DRC plugins in Audirvana…
5 - Your welcome…

Thanks! I don’t think this is for me. I want to have more options in how many filters, and Q-value of the filter.
It looks this is only for bigger sections in the frequency response
But maybe I’m wrong?
Thank you! I expressly did not share many details because I did not want to make it too complicated and only wanted to know certain things.
Watch the tutorial video and then make your judgement… More bands does not necessarily make a better EQ… In audiophile-land “less, is more”
So, a FREE trial of Audirvana (either flavour), plus a FREE DSP (good spot @Agoldnear) plugin.
Doesn’t really matter if the plug-in isn’t to your liking, just that you can get it to work with your Linn (nice kit btw).
Would this not be the best way to determine whether a subscription/purchase of Audirvana is suitable?
Apologies if I’ve missed something.
That’s my setup here
You are right, thanks! I’ll go have a look and try
By the way… what do you mean bit ‘nice kit’ ?

Good luck with the trials. I’m sure you won’t regret it (assuming the Linn, DSP and Audirvana play nicely together).
I’m from the UK. Nice kit = very good choice of hi-fi
If you are using a convolver with FIR filters for Digital Room Correction, like the HangLoose convolver, it is like having 32,767 EQ sliders… Which is exceptional for room bass correction below the rooms transition zone (aka Schroeder frequency)… One could use REW to sample the speaker/room response, use a house curve and some some trick math to create a FIR filter that will Time and Phase align and flatten the speaker/room response…
Also, as @Agoldnear suggests and I would suggest as well, is to start with Bass and Wide-band acoustic absorbers… Then layer your DRC on top of that… And finally add a nice mastering EQ to tone and color to your taste…
