Hi, today I upgraded my subscription from “Leacy” to “Studio”.
At installation all prefs and other data were automatically implemented from the old version to the new one. Playback however is not possible, due to the Exclusive access lock being in the “unlocked” position. I get a dialog box saying:
Playback locks exclusive Access to the audio output for optimum Quality
Other Applications are silent as long as this access is locked
Click on the lock icon to stop playback and release the audio output
The lock itself however is not accessible, and remains grey in unlocked position. When I open the audio settings the lock is also “unlocked” and cannot be locked. Any clues?
The above message you see is only for information (the first time you use Audirvana I believe).
When you press the ‘play’ button and a track is playing your audio output is locked by Audirvana for exclusive access and the ‘lock’ icon gets activated automatically.
Only while music is playing you can press that ‘lock’ icon to stop the music and unlock exclusive mode. If there is nothing playing the ‘lock’ icon is not accesible by design.
Thanks Andy, I understand, but I simply cannot start any track playing. I instantly get the message as quoted above, and nothing starts playing.
The exclusive access mode seems disabled by default
Hi Roel,
In that case (my guess) something is preventing Audirvana to play on your output device in exclusive mode.
Please paste your debug info in this thread while having this problem. See screenshot below. This gives detailed info about your hardware/OS/output device/settings etc. So people on this forum can help you better. The Audirvana staff (@Antoine and @Damien) will be available on office hours (Mo-Fri).
