Failure to Quit , perpetual analyzing audio files

Using the latest version of Studio for Mac OS.
First, I had an issue Syncing a local folder (crashing, failed to finish sync, etc.) Which ultimately it was able to finish. However ** the " Analyzing audio files " process , appears to be re-starting without any progress (grey bar) every time I launch the application.
Now it appears to keep my CPU too busy, and when I am finished with the application - and reach the menu and “Quit” , nothing happens, no beach ball, no indication that it is “quitting”. Also, when I reach for the menu again to → Quit , now the menu is grey’d out and no option to quit.
So every time I want to quit the application, I have to use the Mac OS command “Force Quit” just to exit the application.
Anyone with the same problem ? Ideas ?
Thanks.

Have you sent the crash log to [email protected] as I asked you in your previous post?

yes, just sent again. thanks,

I’ve also subscribed Studio despite hating that forever analyzing “feature”. Don’t need it nor care for it. Please allow subscribers to have an opt out for this. Keeping the cpu busy is not good for the psyc if not sound.

I chased the rabbit with A tech support → SOLVED
When I added a folder to sync (in this case my entire media folder) it kept stalling and not allowing the application to quit properly, I believe both due to one or the other operations not being able to “complete”, i.e. “syncing” and/or “analyzing audio files”.
The only way I was able to solve this problem - In my case running Mac OS , I launched AS via the Terminal application - Launch Terminal > select “new shell” from the menu, in a separate finder window, navigate to > Applications > AS , then “option/right” click on the app and select “show package contents” > “Contents”> MacOs> then drag and drop that icon/app file into the Terminal window. That will create the path script command inside the window. Hit the “Enter” key stroke.
This will launch AS. ***There will be a warning window that opens, asking to allow keyboard control in the security preferences, go ahead and let it take you to the preference pane, but you will notice that AS is already in the menu and already given access. Just quit System Preferences and let AS launch. After AS is open and either stalled or frozen or just running, quit AS or “force quit” if necessary.
Now go back to the Terminal window that has been open in the background. There you will see a log of the operations of AS. You will likely see a line with a file (path) that it says “Audio Fingerprinting …”
That is the likely the culprit file that is not allowing AS to complete its Audio Analyzing, causing crashes, stalling, freezing, beach balling, etc.
Find that file in the finder and remove it from the sync folder.

Relaunch AS as normal and see if it continues/completes it operations. If it does, your golden, if it doesn’t , then repeat the terminal launch again and find the next culprit file.

Hope this helps others out there.
Cheers.

Thank you for the info! having that issue for quite sometime I did tried your suggestion… I have delete 12 files… meaning I have done your info 12 times! still getting the Analyzing routine… and of course I have the analyzing turned off… From the begining this Analysis have been a Fiasco! My subscription end at the end of this month AND I will NOT renew… Just stay with Roon and HQplayer.
