False Start Time of Song in Play Queue (rare condition)

A reproducible bug only if a sample rate change occurs between the tracks.

Arrangement somewhere in the play queue:
Song X with 44100 Hz
Song Y with 96000 Hz

Actions:

  • Play Y until time N somewhere in track
  • Start X (without pause or stop in between) and let it run beyond the end
    → Bug: Y starts at time N (not at the beginning)

Tested in 3.5.44 (AIFF & FLAC) on two Macs with Catalina and Big Sur

Hello @Alberto,

Does the issue appears also when you go from X to Y?

@Damien3
The test can’t be done reverse because play order without manual intervention (… let it run beyond the end) is downwards :wink:
If you mean reverse from 96000 to 44100 then yes: the same issue.
Why don’t you test it?

It will be tested, last thing, are you using a UPnP device? If it’s the case, does it also appear with a local output device?

@Antoine
No I use a RME ADI-2 DAC over USB.

Can you send me a copy of the “Debug Info”? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>General>Debug Info

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message

@Antoine
“Debug Info” sent by PM.
Additional info, I don’t know if this matters: My tests were made with mono files.

The bug remains in A 3.5.46.

7 month later, this bug still exists in 3.5.50 and macOS12 - unfortunately.
