First impulsive impression on Studio 3.0.0 in three words

Well, just left Roon and switched to this audirvana version for sq and comfort. First tried audirvana some years ago and switched to Roon later but now very happy with this audirvana version and tablet app control. No issues at all.
I run Neumann Studio Monitors KH150 with digital signal input. DSP is 24/48 internal limit. So i was looking for a straight way to stream music from window 11 desktop. My prefered signal path is via hdmi audio extractor and spdif reclocker into monitors. Volume control is handled by audirvana software.

In comparison to usb DA conversion or any upnp audioplayer most direct way with best sq for me and avoids additional AD conversion in monitors. It is surely no typical audiophile HiFi installation…

Thanks to audirvana team from my side…

I have had the most positive impressions of the new version 3.0. I love the new interface; accessing the settings panel is logical and easy. The sound, as always, is excellent!
My thanks to the Audivana team!
There are some issues with syncing my 2 terabyte media library, but syncing takes 15 hours.

Welcome…
Why are you bound to HDMI ?

I wonder if those who find sound quality differences re previous version have settings set differently in the new version. Worth the effort to audit the settings in toto.

I haven’t found the time to reproduce this yet.

Not a problem. I have other ways to play to my Elac Z3. Thanks.

I have the same problem with my MacBook Air M1 since version 3 of Audirvāna. It is getting very hot (above 80°C). This wasnā€˜t an issue with the versions before.

Has anyone else also this problem?

Beside the heat issue (see above) my first impression was also very positive about the sound quality of the new version 3. It is not easy to describe: wider soundstage, more details …

My setup: Devialet 250 (non-pro) as amplifier and Duevel Jupiter as speaker.

I’m experiencing the same issue on my Windows PC. When I launch Audirvana 3.0, my PC’s fans ramp up significantly and become very loud. This does not happen with version 2.11.7, which runs quietly on the same system.

Welcome…
Please paste your debug information here so to get the best insights into the behavior you are experiencing.
@Batdude note this as well…

Usually a 2-channel speaker listener. Today I tried Crossfeed L/R with headphones - pretty impressive!

Sorry, I have tried to reproduce the heat issue, which I had during every listen session (about 3-4) since the update to adirvana version 3, but today everything was normal.

The cpu-load started with high values around 50% but only during the first song, then it went down to around 5%. A repeat of the first song didnā€˜t changed the low values. The temperature was 30 - 34°C.

When I pause a song the cpu-load gets only for a few seconds up to 20, 30 or 50% then down to 0-5%. So it seems everything is ok.

I stream via Qobuz or local files.

In case I get the heat issue again I will send the debug info.

@Batdude and @Audi100 did you still have the heat issue?

The value of your debug information is that it provides information about your memory resources and the playback preload memory allocation, in the context of your Audirvāna configuration(s) in concert with your playback scenario, which have distinct influence on computational overhead.

It appears that your Music Library is stored on the System drive… This is not optimum… If the library is using a large amount of available space, synchronizing will put more demand on the CPU operations, due to memory swapping, related to available RAM, in your case (8GB)… It is somewhat understandable having the Music Library on the System drive if this is a portable playback scenario and no portable storage device containing the Music Library is implemented, however it is better to attach a local SSD or NAS in all cases… In this particular case of having the recommended minimum RAM configuration for Audirvāna, there may be limited available drive space for memory swapping during synergetic computer platform and Audirvāna Studio 3.0.1 operations…

I recommend lowering your playback preload memory allocation to 512MB so to provide more RAM for Audirvāna operational efficiency.

Yes, I have emailed you data from my own measurements.

Yes, the heat problem is still present here. Nevertheless, I had no opportunity yet to have a close look into it. That’s why I’m not sure if is during Pause periods only or during Playback also.
