Interestingly I have a similar, but not identical, issue with Audirvana and my Rose streamer where the first few seconds of a track are repeated in"normal" mode but not if Universal Gapless mode is used.
Again, other DLNA players work fine with the Rose, and other renderers work fine with Audirvana.
I can only surmise that Audirvana has some “optimisations” in the DLNA protocol stream that most renderers handle but a small number (including yours and mine) don’t. I’m not suggesting either side is at fault - it may be an ambiguity in the protocol specification - but it’s very frustrating.

UPnP is a poorly defined standard unfortunately, so the various implementations tend to have their own ‘peculiarities’.
@Steve you might perform a test by installing MinimServer on your macbook and trying to control playback to your Atoll device using mConnect Lite on your iPhone (I am assuming you have an iPhone considering you told me you don’t have any Android device)

Of course MinimServer is just a media server, it does not offer any dsp features. But it can be interesting to see if your streamer works in this scenario. MinimServer is well-known so I guess it should work without issues.

Ok thank you! I hope this can be solved.
The nice Atoll guy, who is taking care of “my” case, tried to playback the files I sent him and everything went well. The files played until the end without any skipping. The mystery, therefore, is still there. What strikes me is that this happens with Audirvana Origin (even with the latest release) and NOT with Audirvana 3.5 and with Roon. Waiting any suggestion from the Audirvana people who, it seems, have disappeared from this thread.
