Help needed again

So I was listening to an Album just a regular 24bit/96hz just on my Macbook Pro. no IEM’s or speaker set up etc etc… But I can hear my volume dip down & goes back up? Whats wrong with it and what do I need to do? here’s my debug info.

Also just noticed now… That i’m having more dip on the volume when i’m playing a 24bit flac file. I’m not sure if that makes sense but I know I need help here. : )

Connect a set of headphones/earphones to the headphone out of your Mac to see if you get this same behavior… It could be related to DRM.

:notes: :eye: :headphones: :eye: :notes:

yes i did connect a pair of IEMs after posting this. Still the same behavior. So what is a DRM and how do I fix it?

Digital Rights Management (DRM)

If the files you are playing are copies of files or were not legitimately obtained by virtue of ripping your collection of CD’s, DVD-A or Blue-ray or downloaded from a legitimate reseller, DRM mechanisms/restrictions can be instigated during playback… It is entirely possible that the 24/96kHz files you are attempting to play are upsampled iterations of CD’s that were initially ripped and then duplicated…

:notes: :eye: :headphones: :eye: :notes:

Ok… So what do I need to do?

Do the dips always happen in the same place in a particular track each time you play it, or is it more random?

I hardly get it on 16bit the tracks are random

Does the forced unsampling have anything to d o with it? But I have mine turned off.

When I have experienced volume dips with players, it has been because the player doesn’t have an exclusive lock on the computer’s sound system. But I think Audirvana always exclusively locks the sound system while it plays.

yes that’s what I understand too… So what else can I check on or try? Its becoming really frustrating. : (

And the weird thing is… I have been using Audirvana for 3 years & only noticed this issue the past few months.

turn this OFF

You didn’t answer the question about the provenance (legitimacy) of the files you are trying to play…

:notes: :eye: :headphones: :eye: :notes:

yes the files are legit…

So both should be on?

If you think it was OK 4 to 6 months ago,
here is Origin and Studio released may 29, 2024…
put the one you use and replace it in your Mac applications folder
and see if the bug is gone…

i put them in my dropbox for you to try

Both should be OFF

default is just the first one OFF…

Why would this be associated to a recent version? … I don’t have this problem playing files with Studio 2.9.5…

RunHomeSlow not sure what you mean?
