How to replace my Macbook pro: your help is needed!

Thanks for this. Quite interesting to see that there is a working solution with an old MBP over wifi. On my side I’m not quite sure about the wifi as my router is sometimes lagging, especially after more than one week of use.

My Mid2010 MacBook connects to 5GHz and has 300 Mbit/s up and down (in theory).
But the router has to set to 802.11n+a and not 802.11n+ac (This should work, but does not)
Before I had an other 5GHz router and it did not work, I used an old D-Link DIR-652 as Access Point and it worked fine with 2.4GHz. That’s a bit crazy, but some routers give priority to media streams.
Some say Wifi is bad for audio streaming, other say it’s good because then there is no electrical connection. Ok…I never heard any difference!

For less than 10 bucks you can purchase an USB 2 to 100mbps Ethernet adapter!
