How to start playing an album from any track?

Dear all,
I tried to start playing an album from a specific track (Not the first one) but could not find how to do it.
I might be stupid, but if I’m not I would be happy to have this feature on-board.

?? Click an album, you see the tracks… double click a track to start, the rest will follow :grinning:

OK, thanks, I did not know that.

I tried it on the remote: the only effect of double click on a track is to add it twice to the active playlist.
Works on the main I/F at least. Thing is that I use remote more often than the main I/F.

And by the way, on the remote, How do I remove all tracks from the active playlist? I see a button on the main I/F but nothing on the remote.

On your remote on the right of each track you see three dots (…). Tap the dots with your finger and you see a menu… On that menu you have the choice to play inmediately (‘Play now and replace play queue’).

In your active playlist (the play queue) on your remote you see a red round icon with a trashcan in the below right corner. Tap that and it will empty your queue.

Also look in the settings of your remote app. There is a setting ‘Default track tap action’. On the remote one tap/click (and not double tap/click) will start playing a track by default, but you can change that in the settings.

Get to know the remote (and/or Audirvana on your computer). Explore/Click/Tap on everything, look into the settings, Three dots (…) is always a menu with more options.

The remote app does not work exactly the same as Audirvana on the computer so be specific with your questions to avoid confusion about which one you mean.

Thanks for this.
I cannot see any red dot with the trashcan on the remote. After opening the pay queue, I only see a list of tracks and nothing else.

When I select a track from an album, and I open the menu to select 'Play now and replace play queue", only that track is added to the play queue.

It seems I do not have the same behaviour on my side. Maybe this is related to a specific configuration of the remote?

If I select ‘Play now and replace play que’ all the tracks will be placed in the play queue and the track starting to play is the track I selected.

If I go to the play queue I see a trash can in the lower right corner of the screen.

I am using Android and I have tried this on a Android tablet and on my Android phone.

I don’t know what to say further.
Maybe you are using iOS? Does someone else here on this forum know if there are differences between iOS and Android?

Thanks. Yes, I confirm, I’m on iOS on Ipad for the remote. Maybe there are some differences or the remote on Android is already an updated version compared to iOS.
Or, maybe, I missed something…

Sorry, but this is still an issue on my side: whatever I do I cannot start playing an album from one particular track.
I can only play the entire album and then go to the play queue and select any particular track to start playing from that one.
I’m running AS on an Apple Mini and the remote on an iPad.
Thanks for any help.

Why do you want to do this? If you are trying to re-order the album, why not create a playlist for that album of tracks?

I think it is the workaround he found to play that track…

Ok, let’s be clear here: what i’m trying to get is a way to start playing an album FROM ANY particular track.
I can do that from the standard UI of AS, by double-clicking on the track.
I CANNOT do it on the REMOTE with my iPAD, when it seems this is feasible from the remote on Android.
What I’m trying to get here is just what I can do using my CD player: starting the CD from any track, which can change over the time (Depending on the actual mood…)
If anybody is using an iPad, I’m curious to know if they can do it easily and how, or if they have the same issue as me.

Hello @patifr,

Can you send a screenshot of the configuration menu you have on your iPad?

Merci Antoine,
