Keyboard volume not working correclty - Both back to Zero

Hello,
am on Sequoia Mac Studio M2.
My Down and Up volume keys do not work correctly … they both bring the sound volume to zero, without any steps, directly, click either and the sound goes to zero, same with the - and + icons,… The sound On/Off toggle key does work on the other hand.

No issue with Android as a remote but I also need to be able to use my keyboard. Am using a Logitech MX Keys.

Hi @ianstudio,

I presume you have those options enabled in the Appearance settings?

I tried several setups as I also use Rogue Amoeba’s SoundSource and Loopback, as well as Realphones. If I bypass (checkmarks off) the Audirvana Keyboard control, it’s a hit or miss situation with these other tools activated, sometimes I can access volume keyboard keys, sometimes they do not respond. I now found that I am better off not trying to integrate certain of these tools with Audirvana. Specifically not trying to reroute it at the SoundSource level. Thanks.

I just tried again right now and ran into the same issue… could it be that quitting Rogue Amoeba apps, somehow still affects Audirvana ? I imagine all these ‘drivers’ get complicated at the system level. But I need their tools more than Audirvana so I don’t want to uninstall them even to troubleshoot upon reboots etc. Which would be the cleanest way to approach troubleshooting.

The weirdest part is that the keys both make the volume slider go down at first… then once down to zero they do not respond anymore. The mute still does work fine.

Now I understand that behavior happens depending on what output was selected… aggregate, RogueAmoeba’s own ‘aggregate’ type, etc… In other cases the system volume takes over, I need to do some more testing as I have many outputs (I make music and need to do all sorts of routing depending on my end goal, monitoring, enjoying music, testing various headphones and speakers etc).

Wouldn’t there be a way to make Audirvana’s choice of output be System Output… (on Mac at least), so that it all could be piloted more centrally at the Mac level ?

I can make aggregate outputs AND keyboard keys work if Keyboard Control (both) in Appearance are OFF. Then I select my Aggregate in both Audirvana as output and in SoundSource. Then it all works as I expect, Android remote included. I’m all set I think…
