Less resolution and detail than on my phone. What am I doing wrong?

I’ve been A/Bing Audirvana Studio on my PC (Lenovo Legion) vs my Samsung Galaxy S23+ and I find I’m getting lower resolution and detail on Audirvana than my phone. Scratching my head on why that is. I use Lorde’s Buzzcut Season as a test track as at the beginning the reverb of the piano notes can be clearly heard to bounce off a hard surface (or it sounds like that to me). On my phone it’s very clear but on my pc it isn’t there at all.

I use the same set up apart from the source. Same USB cables, same dac/amp and same headphone (Hifiman HE1000se). I even use iFi Silencer+ and I have a power conditioner so my PC should have a reasonably clean sound.

I tested on different upsampling modes and the outcome is the same.

What am I missing?

hi @Soundmeow,

Do you have Dolby Atmos enabled on your Galaxy s23+?

I do but it automatically switches off when I connect the phone as a source. At least that’s what it shows on the phone. The icon isn’t highlighted

This is an incomplete report… you have cut-off the computer OS and memory information… Please include the computer/OS/memory information.

:notes: :eye: :headphones: :eye: :notes:

Disable your plug-in and disable upsampling, so to get a proper baseline reference and then work from there… Reduce the playback pre-load memory allocation to 4GB… Also try using ASIO.

:notes: :eye: :headphones: :eye: :notes:

Here’s the debug report with the OS and memory info. Also disabled the plug-in, upsampling and reduced the memory allocation to around 4gb. I can’t use ASIO. Doesn’t seem to work on my PC. Kernel Streaming works sporadically. Might be a driver update issue but I don’t know which driver to update.
