I don’t know what causes that, bugs happen
Since now all is good, try to repair & optimize your database…
If you are with 3.x.x version go in Audirvana menu… File menu… Library menu… Optimize Database,
do the three steps there. The third is longer but for me 38000 files, it took just like 10 mins max…
Then close A+.
Apple hide the Home Folder in User Library at some time depending on OS System… When you have clicked your Home Folder, and cannot see the Library Folder in there, just do a ‘‘cmd J’’ to show the folder settings preferences and see at the bottom… click Show Library Folder and then you’ll have access to the rest forever.
Copy those two files somewhere in a folder name like: A+ backup nov2018
You can copy those as many time you want to stay up to date if a bug occured again.
You just have to put them back where they were and restart your Mac to have your database
be like it was the day you made the backup.
Go to User… Home Folder… Library… Applications Support… Audirvana Folder…
AudirvanaPlusDatabase.sqlite (that is your music database)
Go to User… Home Folder… Library… Preferences…
com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus.plist (that is A+ software preferences)
Thanks RunHomeSlow! That backup information is very helpful. I’ll use it to periodically backup my A+.
Thanks again for your help with this!
Scott
Sigh So yesterday I lost power, which caused my NAS and Mac (both connected to UPSes) to gracefully restart. Upon restarting, A+ said that the NAS drive ID had changed and asked if I wanted to keep using it. I clicked “Yes.” A+ then rescanned my library, and Artists M-S are now missing again.
I entered Preferences and found that my directory scans were set to Manual, so I deleted and re-added them so they were set back to Auto. After syncing, A+ was still missing Artists M-S.
I next followed RunHomeSlow’s advice and restored a backup from after I fixed this problem a few days ago. My restore steps were:
- Close Audirvana
- Copy the backup “AudirvanaPlusDatabase.sqlite” music database file to Users/Scott/Library/Application Support/Audirvana/
- Copy the backup “com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus.plist” software preferences file to Users/Scott/Library/Preferences/
- Restart the Mac
- Open Audirvana
However, I am still missing Artists M-S. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Scott
Maybe with a nas there is steps to start?
First nas then A+ Or ppposite ?
Close one, close the second, open which first ? then the other?
Redo the steps that worked when you succeed seeing the m-s…,
This thread has been dormant for a while, but I thought that I should return to say that I am still having this issue, where M-S albums are missing from my library.
Last weekend, I again uninstalled A+ completely using RunHomeSlow’s instructions above. Upon reinstalling A+ and scanning my library over several hours, M-S albums were slowly added and then slowly removed. When I subsequently moved all files into a subfolder, A+ updated itself by scanning them all again. Again, M-S albums were slowly added and then slowly removed during the scan.
I don’t know what is going on, but I’m hoping for an update to fix this. It’s evident that A+ can see the files and add them to my library (as can the few other media applications that I mentioned above, which don’t have an issue). But for some reason, A+ removes these files before the scan is complete.
Am I possibly hitting some upper limit on library size? This is a major bummer because I haven’t been able to listen to much of my library for a few months.
Thanks for reading,
Scott
For what it’s worth, I continued having this “missing albums” problem until upgrading to v3.5. The upgrade process restored my missing albums, and everything has now worked properly (those albums haven’t disappeared after a couple of days) for the last couple of weeks. I’m glad to (hopefully) have this issue resolved!
