I have a huge library – over 700k songs that live on a 10T external hard drive. I’ve finally had enough with what was once iTunes and is now the Apple Music app. It simply can’t handle the weight. And I find myself with no adequate way to organize and play my music. I don’t require streaming service help. My needs are only about organizing and playing my own music. So, three questions. Will Audirvana Origin handle that much music? Will the interface allow for the making of playlists in a way that I’m familiar with? And lastly, and this is moderately important, does Audirvana play nice with Airplay speakers? Thanks in advance for any help, opinions, etc. Here’s hoping I can find a new home for all that music.
You can try out Audirvana for free. My system manages 1443 albums, easily, beautifully.
Airplay Speakers will need a more experienced audio user than I to reply.
Regards
Phil
I’m a bit surprised that Apple Music cannot handle ‘the weight’. Describe what is the problem for you, because with this rather opaque description you won’t get validated answers. Apple Music is faster than Studio in my experience.
Due to recent updates, the library file is no longer stable. Corrupt file, no file paths to music on external ergo no music library. Working with tech support, I created a new library from scratch, loading 700k songs. But the first time I quit, then started back up…corrupt library file. And all that time wasted.
The Music app was updated during the last OS update. That’s likely the culprit. Whatever the case, I’m hoping to find an alternative. Starting with Audirvāna.
