For those who have a ZEN DAC. Iā€™ve looked up the colors that are being used when you are listening to certain types of stuff.

Yellow - PCM 44.1/48kHz
White - PCM 88.2 kHz - 384kHz
Cyan - DSD 64/128
Red - DSD 256
Green - MQA
Blue - MQA Studio
Magenta - MQB

I buyā€™s a M1 Mac Mini in full configuration (16GB RAM, 2TB SSD) in Aug. 2021, now with Ventura 13.0.1
My DAC - CORDA DACCORD ff runs fine over an ANKER 4 port USB Hub.

I have never heard fan noises, even in the summer when it was hot. I used a tool to turn up the fan, but it is still only audible very quietly.

I installed a super-quiet (noiseless) fan in my 2-slot Echo Expressā€¦ :wink:

After a macOS update, I found the WW 3.1 cable was creating problems with hand-shaking to my DAC through my USB 3.0 path from the USB 3.0 card installed in my chassis, through iGalvanic, to my DACā€¦ probably due to too many protocol transitionsā€¦ So now I use a high-quality TB-3 cable with a little ferrite bead strategically installed at both ends of the cableā€¦ I wish WW would make a TB cableā€¦

Noā€¦ I have a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 interface running on the Firewire bus ā€¦ Iā€™m using a Sonnettech USB 3.0 + Firewire 800 card on my headphone reference systemā€¦ The USB transmission path is extremely quiet and very well clockedā€¦ I use the UpTone USB 2.0 card attached to the iGalvanic USB 2.0 outputā€¦ I modulate all PCMxxx to DSD128 via r8Brain in Audirvanaā€¦ The Eifidelity card is a great inexpensive investment in lowering the power-plane noiseā€¦ I think it even helps clean-up the MBP bus controllersā€¦
