MQA Studio and MQA

Hi all, I’m currently trailing Audirvana Studio and loving it. However I have a question.

I’m using it with my Helm Bolt MQA dac. I have some offline MQA Studio tracks and normal MQA tracks.

  • Plain MQA tracks play fine, input and output matches (input is :green_circle: - output is :green_circle: )
  • MQA Studio tracks however shows blue dot with MQA Studio as input :large_blue_circle: , and MQA (plain) with green dot as output :green_circle: (however input and output bit depth and sample rate match)

Is there something wrong here or it’s an expected behaviour?

It’s normal. This is to indicate different flavours of MQA files.

The Blue color means that the file is “Studio authenticated”.
The Green color is for other MQA audio file.
