Looking for some help. I play multi channel audio 5.1 from my MacBook Pro, HDMI out into my AV amplifier. The audio will play fine for a few minutes and then I’ll start to hear clicks and pops, they sound like digital artifacts. I have no idea what is going on. J River doesn’t have this issue so I know there not the audio files. I’m wondering if there are settings that I’m missing to set or is this a bug in the software. Thanks!
Hi @joey138,
Can you send us a copy of the "Debug Info“ when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account.
Note: When you click on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content. Please paste it in response to this message.
Multi-channel DSD has been unplayable with Audirvana for me on my former MacBook Pro and current MacBook Air since 3.5.13… I recently tried Studio and Origin on my MacBook Air and this same issue you’re having persists. I have only 8gb of RAM (on both machines) and I have a sense that the overhead with Multi-channel DoP in the way it’s implemented by Audirvana requires more than 8g of RAM can accommodate although I’ve never been able to test it with more. My MacBook Air has an M1 processor which was a huge increase in processing power over my 2011 Pro so I would think that it’s not a processing capacity issue but the behavior was exactly the same on both 8g RAM machines. Two channel DSD works fine.
Thanks for the response Antoine. Here you go.

Apparently you are trying to playback via an Aggregate Device, which is going to be flaky… I don’t see that you have a homogenous multi-channel DAC…
The AU plug-in is not a surround EQ and unusable for multi-channel, it should be disabled… And SoundFlower is competing with Audirvana for Core Audio API’s… It appears to me that you need to find a more homogenous playback system configuration that reduces processing overhead with a true multi-channel DAC in this scenario.
