I noticed that most of the settings are not kept.

For each device, the following settings should be kept:

  • All setting in the DAC input panel, including exclusive access and integer mode
  • Volume control on/off and the level
  • Upsampling settings

Those two settings shoudl be actually saved by device in the actual version of the 2.0 beta.

In the case of UPnP, it works but int he case of local outputs it’s not. I will need to ask if it’s feasible or not.

It’s not working at the moment. DAC Input settings are not kept, I addition to that there’s the issue with the upsampling in the Mac version.

That would be a good thing to have also via USB. At least keep the setting whether software volume control is enabled or not.

Here is the first DAC, PCM only, integer mode on, sampling rate limit to 192KHz.

Changed to DSD capable DAC, DoP 1.1, MQA decoder, no sampling rate limit.

Changed to the first DAC, but the settings are not restored. The settings from the second DAC are kept.

Test with 2 external devices. Haven’t tested with the built in audio.

What I notice now is that the debug info doesn’t correspond to the current settings in the DAC input panel:

You’ll notice that MQA is set to “MQA decoder” but the debug info shows “not MQA”. Also the sample rate limitation is set to “none”, while the debug info shows 192kHz. Same for DSD capability → Unhandled, while the interface shows DoP 1.1 and the DAC supports DSD256.

Yes, the other one was CA DacMagic XS (dongle DAC).

With both devices connected I can’t play DSD at all. It gets converted to PCM. Settings appear to be mixed up.

There is obviously a discrepancy with what the interface shows and the internal setting. Debug info appears to be showing the current setting that AS uses, but I’m not able to change it. Tried restarting AS few times.

Did you got the update we have done yesterday? We have made a fix for this issue.

There is still a problem when selecting a USB DAC. In the menu, it is impossible to switch directly from one DAC to another. It is necessary to select an Apple output first.

DSD r8brain oversampling is still displayed on the Mac output, which is impossible.
