Multiple genres are not separated in 2.3

I use Origin 2.3, but I think this goes also for Studio 2.3.
Thanks for adding the ‘Genres’.

In my metatags I use multiple genres divided by '; ’ (which is more or less the standard in most music players).

As you can see above there is now a genre: “Acid Jazz Deep House Electronic” while in the meta data this is defined as “Acid Jazz; Deep House; Electronic”. This is just one example, but I see this for all genre tags with multiple values.

What I expect to see in Audirvana is:

  • Acid Jazz
  • Deep House
  • Electronic

Tags (genre, artists, album artists etc.) with multiple items are separated correctly by other players (Foobar, JRiver etc.), but here it does not seem the case. Also in most other programs the separation characters can be defined by the user (like semicolons, comma’s ‘|’ etc.). But I am ahead of myself here, since that should be in the feature requests

You’re just inventing genres aren’t you?

Actually, I let Musicbrainz Picard do the grunt work. I manually correct missing or incorrect things.
I am flabbergasted myself how many genres and sub genres there are (or invented)

I must admit I have invented the genre ‘Audiophile’ myself, to be able to filter on audiophile recordings. Call me a snob :joy:

Hi @AndyLubke,

I will try this out on Foobar to see how it behaves on the track metadata itself when adding multiple genre :face_with_monocle:

Hi @Antoine,
Here is a screenshot from Foobar (by genre), connected to the same library. You see the genres are separated there.
Sorry to show you a screenshot of the competition :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :joy:

Thanks for the screenshot. It’s something special :joy:
