According to the specs it seems that you can play dsd 2 channel only over network connection
If you have some dsd 2 channel file you could try and report here if it plays “fine”

… you can find it on the screenshot you posted, it says Audio Channels 2

I will try to playback a stereo dsd file

its strange…if Device Type=UPnP network player, it will route the playback to the Denon Heos app in the AVR but it still has hissing for both 2channel and MCH. So, UPnP network player unable to playback both stereo and MCH. I dont even have a Denon HEOS account and its not even set up in my AVR but somehow, it gets routed to Denon HEOS for playback

However, if Device Type= Local device using WASAPI, playing 2channel & MCH dsf in Audirvana is ok but only via PCM.

I am now testing foobar2k and it works perfectly for stereo and mch dsf
i would very much love to use Audirvana but seems its not going my way

It’s normal since HEOS as been added to all of the new device of Sound United (the group which owns Denon) and they use it as their multimedia app.

Do you have a ASIO driver with your device?

yes, I do have asio driver too. Tried and had same issues

Did you deactivated Dsd over Pcm when you tried with ASIO?

Under ASIO, when I selected None: Convert to PCM, there is only hissing and Channels=Stereo (cannot be changed).
If I were to select DSD over PCM 1.0/1.1, it brings me to the HESO screen and playback is also hissing

When I use WASAPI, DSD over PCM 1.0/1.1 has hissing too. Its fine if I were to select None: Convert to PCM. MCH is supported

Hissing and throwing me to the HEOS screen happens when the Device Type is uPnP Network. Playback via Convert to PCM is possible if its Local Network
