At the time, the computing magazines were offering a floppy full of sharewares with the magazine. This is how the apps were distributed. There were many donationaires also in the floppy.
Brings back memories for me as well. I got some great deals at the Computer shows in Syracuse NY at the time I was running a BBS, and I remember seeing those tables with all the disks. And then in the corner there was a table or two selling disks with the more ârisquĂ©â content. ![]()
I often miss the BBS community, and the local events we had with other SysOps and users.
There were great apps at the time all in black and white. There were even no gray shades.
Well, in the early days, many of us used a Hercules Graphics Card (or clone) â monochrome only.
That wasnât the early daysâŠâŠâŠ.
VIC-20, cassettes for programs and storage, mono amber monitor.
Those were the good old days
âWeâve got a really big shoe tonight â
I skipped the VIC-20. I was in University then where I had access to real computers. (In my first year, I was forced to use a keypunch machine.)
Beatles fan?
You werenât missing much, when they said that you would learn programming in BASIC that was truth in advertising
Vic 20 , Commodore 64, IBM clones my buddy helped me build , Windows 3.1
Didnât you just love punching out those cards. One thing --it encouraged you to create short programs.
Before they started toking on the home rolled cigarettes?
Revolver, Rubber Soul ? Thatâs the stuff
There was a released this week this of a new set box with a remix of Let it Be.
I do like the early stuff on the anthology sets
Have you heard the naked version without the
Phil Spector wall of sound effect?
Quite interesting I think
If I ever heard it, I donât remember it.
Do you see it in this Box Set?
You bought the Box Set already?
I was told that only two songs of it were available on Qobuz.
Tidal streams it?
Is it worth buying it?
My goodness it is on Tidal ! 5 Discâs
Thanks Jim !
OK, Iâll ask you otherwise.
The Box set of the White Album with the new remixes was excellent.
After that the Box Sets of Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road were less interesting.
How do you qualify this new release?
