Well the Origin 2.5.14 for macOS still left unfixed the UI issues i post before and that update took so much to be release, team when this may be done?
Since i’m at least 5 years older than him on this forum, can mine be first
No! Let it be me. I’m at least 5 years older.
All comes down to priorities. Hopefully Audirvana does not take a leaf out of Apple’s playbook. Once a bug is granted its 5 year (dis)service award it tends to be rebranded from “known issue” to ”feature”……
Hi guys, as @Djm1960 said, it all comes down to priorities. We do have your comment about the UI on our backlog, and we will handle them if it’s possible as some of them can’t be easily fixed.
We are working on the UI, but I can’t tell you when we will do those changes.
I apriciate it! But macOS version needs more love deserves more love!
2 years here… that last newsletter
those bugs might be fixed in ‘‘new Origin’’…
but, 58$ CAN is heavy just to wish having Albums of Artist first to last…
Totally understand your point. Comes down to an individuals assessment of value.
The pace of improvement of the software is determined, in part, by the size of the development team. The size of the development team impacts company expenditure. Balancing costs versus income is a necessity to sustain the company into the future.
The addition of Linux/NAS platform has no doubt taken resources away from Windows/Mac development and slowed the pace of development somewhat (at least that is my perception) but I assume this was done to grow the subscriber base and therefore allow them to grow the company and accelerate the pace of development. Only Audirvana would know whether it has achieved this goal but I do see a number of “Switchers” on the forum so here’s hoping that we will see the fruits of growth.
When I look back to the first release of Studio it has come a long way. The passion of the company is shown in the quality of it’s playback engine so I don’t doubt any increases in revenue will be directed to improvement of the application in all it’s forms, they clearly want to make the best “audiophile grade” digital playback solution. The only thing that hasn’t really changed in the intervening years is the price of a Studio subscription.
As stated it all comes down to an individual perception of value that they get. For me using Studio my perception of sound quality means I see a high value in using Studio. No doubt the increase in cost for Origin owners will soon be followed by an increase in Studio subscription cost. To me it has been a bargain and will be happy to pay more providing over the long term the issues I have are addressed and the app continues to develop in ways that benefit my experience and use case (and yes, hopefully at an accelerated pace). Time will tell whether this is the case but I still have confidence that the passion of people at Audirvana will ensure I stay with the software into the future and enjoy what to my “ears” is exceptional sound quality and hopefully see continued improvements in stability and features.
