I’m thinking about getting a NAS system (probably from Synology), that will handle the Audirvana application smoothly and without any issues.
Do you have any recommendations for Synology NAS systems, that are “certified” for Audirvana?
Unfortunately, i didn’t find any information from Audirvana itself, which specification a NAS system should have for running the Audirvana app on it.
Hi @Stefan_Sibbe, a few questions to better answer your question …
- How much storage do you need?
- Will the NAS hold the only copy of your music library?
- Do you want to run Audirvana (the Linux version) on the NAS?
seems like i already found the requirements i was looking for (see Screenshots below).
It’s just a bit odd, that Audirvana doesn’t even mention a specific NAS Synology model, but they just claim “latest Synology DSM” without getting specific.
I just don’t understand the difference between the Audirvana application for NAS systems and for Linux systems. What’s the benefit of Linux over NAS systems?
Isn’t the latest Synology NAS system running on Linux?
Main goal is to have a data storage system (probably a Synology NAS), that in best case will also have an OS, on which the Audirvana application can be installed.
So instead of formerly having a PC running with the Audirvana application and playing songs, that are stored on a NAS, i would like to have everything (application + storage) in one system.
PLUS i want to control this Audirvana system with my Android Remote App.
So, getting rid of my PC.
It is the same, but the Synology and QNAP versions have been packaged according to the application specifications of either brand. Just select what id appropriate to the device used.
