Ripped CD Pre-Emphasis

Can Audirvana Origin detect ripped CD audio files that have pre-emphasis applied? I have some 80’s CDs that have pre-emphasis and the ripped files played through Audirvana are bright with a higher treble volume.

Outside of this article linked below, which will give you some insights on applying EQ and how to correct this using the SoX open-source application… It appears that using an EQ plug-in is your only option.

Thanks Agoldnear for the help but found the manual de-emphasis option in dbpoweramp (did not know it existed). Upon further investigation I found dbPoweramp does de-emphasis automatically when ripping (if pre-emphasis is detected) but is not 100% perfect requiring manually selecting the de-emphasis option from time to time on older vintage cd’s. Did not know this option was included in the dbpoweramp ripper.

Pre-Emphasis Problem solved - used dbpoweramp to rip a cd normally to which ever audio format desired. Dbpoweramp will automatically implement the de-emphasis equalization if pre-emphasis is detected. If the rip has more treble than when played in a CD player or streamed then re-rip using the manual de-emphasis option.
