RME Adi 2 DAC FS no Kernel Streaming with Audirvana Studio?

Hello at all…

look at the headline. I am using an RME Adi 2 DAC FS with Audirvana on my HP Laptop, optimized with Fidelizer Pro since a few weeks. Before this I used an SMSL SU9 DAC. With the SMSL the option Kernel Streaming was the best. Now, with the RME Kernel streaming is not possible. When I klick Kernel Streaming then is shown in the lower right “DAC: kein Gerät” No device
ASIO and WASAPI is possible to chose.

Hi @Steff,

Can you send us a copy of the “Debug Info” when you have this issue? You can get it in Audirvana Settings>My account

Note: By clicking on the Debug Info button, Audirvana automatically copies all its content, all you have to do is paste it in response to this message

It seems your device is declaring it’s frequency capabilities over Kernel Streaming not in a standard way and we will need to contact RME to get a unit and reproduce the issue on our side. Such thing will require time before being able to get the unit.

@Antoine
Thank you for your quick support. I would like you get an ADI 2 FS from RME for a workaround to solve this bug. Time is no matter, because I can run it with ASIO until there is a solution.

Thx Steff

@Antoine

There is no more need do work on this “issue”.

The solution is to deinstall the RME Madiface Driver an use the WIN STANDARD SOUND DRIVER and set the RME Adi 2 FS as Standard Sound Device in Windows. Then one can choose Kernel Streaming in Audirvana in all resolutions from 44.1 up to 768 for PCM and DSD from 64 up to 256.

This usefull tip came from a member in the RME Forum - THX to him.

HI @Steff,

Thanks a lot for sharing the tip here. I already reached out to RME for PWA certification so we will see where it goes :wink:

Hi @Antoine.
I have the same problem as Steff, I followed all steps (uninstall, settings etc.), but the Kernel Streaming still doesn’t work. Even worse, I was forced to reinstall RME Driver in order to get back to ASIO streaming (which stopped working after applied Steff’s solution).

Any help will be appreciated. :slight_smile: Thank you very much!
