Search my albums by record label, e.g. Naxos, Linn Records, Blue Coast Records, Deutsche Grammophon, Sony, Chesky Records, etc

Hi @Antoine,

As I understand it, Audirvāna currently lacks a dedicated feature to search for music by record label. Users can search for tracks, artists, and albums, but searching by label is not supported directly within the App or its integration with streaming services like Qobuz. The ability to filter by record label has been requested multiple times, indicating a demand for this feature among users.

QoBuz Customer Support reports “Based on the information available, it appears that Qobuz does have a feature to search for music by record label. The search interface includes options for Artists, Albums, Tracks, and Labels. However, we don’t have specific information about an API for this functionality or plans to provide one. If you’re having trouble finding or using this feature, you might want to check the search options in your Qobuz app or website interface. For more detailed information about API availability or plans, you may need to reach out to our customer support team directly”.

Based on the above comments from QoBuz, it seems searching by record label may not be possible. From your previous posts, it seems Audiovana cannot search by record label since this capability is not supported using QoBuz.

Do you have any updated information or comments on this? Thanks.

Hi @hgeifman

I use the Album Artist metadata for this. It does mean adding that into the album as I add the album.

Ω e|class indicates where I purchased the album and where I store it and it’s backup.
ΩBIS for the album label
Ω places the items at the end of the data field.

I support the idea of a broader search/field.

I emailed QoBuz Customer Support. Their response said “I understand your desire for a search by record label feature, and it’s a great suggestion! Qobuz does have a label search option on our platform, including labels like Naxos, Deutsche Grammophon, and Sony. However, we don’t have specific information about an API for Audirvana or future development plans. Qobuz is continuously improving, with ongoing updates to our service. For the most up-to-date information on features and integrations, I recommend checking our website or contacting our customer support team directly”.

Obviously, I need both QoBuz and Audiovana to work together to make this happen. Based on the above, it seems, Audiovana does not have a search by record label feature.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? Thanks…

My search shows “Audirvana does not currently support filtering or selecting albums by record label directly within its application.

Users have requested this feature in the Audirvana community, indicating a desire to filter albums by labels like Naxos, Linn Records, and others. While Audirvana offers various sorting and filtering options, such as by artist or genre, filtering by record label remains a feature request”.

Hi @hgeifman,

You found the correct information. Qobuz API does not implement this, and we can’t do anything about it. We hope they can add it to the API at some point, but we can’t force them to do so.

Hi @Antoine,

Thanks. Based on my research, it is seems that Qobuz will NOT modify their API to fully support a direct “search by album label” feature. While Qobuz allows users to browse albums by label through its app (e.g., clicking on a label name from album credits), this functionality is not exposed as a top-level search feature in their API. Based on Qobuz’s response to me regarding search by album label, I have decided not to pursue this any further with QoBuz.

Hi @Antoine,

Qobuz Customer Service email response says “Thank you for your email. I will escalate your request to our Development Team and share your suggestion for consideration in future updates. While I cannot guarantee immediate changes, your feedback is important, and we’re always looking for ways to improve the Qobuz experience. In the meantime, you might find it helpful to use the Qobuz website directly, as it allows you to browse curated content and sometimes filter releases by specific labels. This could complement your listening experience with Audirvana”.
