Searching behavior

If I search for e.g. Ansermet Swan Lake in the search box I get no results, but if I search for Swan Lake Ansermet I get the expected results…
This is not the expected behavior, or is it?!

Can you take a look at the metadata of this track? What do you see in the “sort as” section?

The sort as field has nothing to do with the order of the search terms, or has it?

I got more info about it. First of all, it’s not a bug, it’s how the search detection works.

In your case you searched this first:

Ansermet Swan Lake → the album artist + the track title

→ We made the choice to not include track title of an artist in this configuration as the result can get wild in this case in a lot of scenarios since the first thing searched is the album artist.

You then searched:

Swan Lake Ansermet → the track title + the album artist

→ In this case, we include the album artist in the search as it’s giving a more precise result than the first one and thus, less result to get.

Does it make sense?

I understand now. Makes perfect sense, but I was not aware of this. I will be more careful in defining my searches.
