Severe lag when typing in the search bar – is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a very frustrating issue with Audirvana’s search function. Whenever I try to type in the search bar, the interface freezes and lags badly—so much that I have to type one letter at a time and wait for it to register. This makes searching for music extremely slow and impractical.

Is this a known issue for all users, or could it be related to a specific setting in Audirvana? For context:

  • I have my buffer set to 8 GB.
  • I’m using ASIO for audio output.
  • I have 4 audio plugins active (for EQ/correction).
  • My library is linked with Tidal.

Could any of these factors be causing the lag? Or is there a way to optimize the search performance?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

No this is not normal, search populates instantly as I type. Would suggest you check your internet connection (reboot modem/router) and disconnect from Tidal and reconnect from the Audirvana/Settings/Streaming tab.

If you have a local library in addition to Tidal, after disconneting Tidal conduct a search and see if the issue still occurs. If it doesnt you know it is either Tidal having an off day, the route between the Tidal server and your computer is having an off day or your internet connection is having an off day. If it still occurs with your local library only then something else is going on in which case post your debug info (Audirvana/Settings/My Account/Help/Debug Info and just paste the info into a post.

If not related to your internet/network but is a slowdown within Audirvana itself then I would try disabling your plug in’s, if this resolves the issue re-add them one at a time to see which plug-in may be causing the issue.

Or an “analyzing files” process is in progress. Check Local tab. If you have a slow computer this may be the reason.
