Could anyone clarify whether Audirvāna offers the capability to sort and display ALL related works by an artist on one page, including solo albums, alias projects, featured collaborations, and other contributions (such as soundtracks and compilations)? I am keen to enhance my navigation experience within the platform. Thank you!
The capability? Yes for local files, with some preparatory work on your part.
The prep work is to organize your folders the way you want Audirvana to sort the albums. For example, I have a tribute album to the late Nanci Griffith (songs she wrote performed by other artists) in my Nanci Griffith folder, even though she obviously did not perform on the album.
Then I ask Audirvana to use file location as the top sorting criterion and voila.
Thank you so much for your suggestion. I am currently exploring ways to optimize the organization of artist/recordings in Audirvana. For example, Thom Yorke. As you may know, Thom Yorke is the lead singer of Radiohead and has an extensive discography that includes multiple groups and solo projects.
To provide context, here are some key points about Thom Yorke’s body of work:
1/ Primary Groups:
- Radiohead (Albums, and singles)
- Atoms For Peace (Albums, and singles)
2/ Solo Works:
- Albums, and singles released under his name, Thom Yorke.
- Alias project released under the pseudonym “Dr. Tchock,” primarily for remixes for other artists.
3/ Other Releases:
- Soundtrack albums
- Live albums
4/ Others:
- Other contributions / featuring tracks (e.g. duet, compilation tracks)
Given the diverse nature of his discography, I would like to seek your advice on which sorting logic would you recommend to achieve a clear and user-friendly interface on Audirvana? Any insights on how to best implement these categories would be greatly appreciated.
