Sound "pops" listening to MQA files

Thanks for confirming bitracer, so I had the concept right…

I came to the same idea for the plan of action from here and have been looking over Amarra (which is a bit on the pricey side).

Do you have any other suggestions?

You can test with any bit-perfect capable player. Even Vox would do, or you can just download a trial of Amarra or JRiver.

I tested the same with Amarra player and although the problem is less obvious, it is still apparent. So it seems that the amplifier is at fault and I have contacted the manufacturer about the matter and will get back to this forum when resolved.

Thanks for the help!

Confirmed the hardware problem:
To follow-up on the issue of pop and clicks: the manufacturer service confirmed that the hardware had a faulty USB component and the sound is now up to standard!

Many thanks for your input towards the solution!

Hello,

I’ve been using Audirvana for a short time, and I’m very happy with the sound improvements! When I stream highresaudio I always have annoying crackles during the playback.Of course I’ve already tested all possible settings, and used optimization software like Fidelizer 8.7-all without success. The only solution was to process the HRA stream with upsampling(DSD).
How can I fix the problem without upsampling?

Hello @Boriz, do you have the same issue while you try to play track from your local library?

Hello,
The playback from the hard drive works(but I have used little.)Also I can stream to my denon amplifier (UPnP).Still a hardware overview:High end usb and lan cable from Aqvox,Asus z370 motherboard,16 gb Ram,Intel i8700k,Dac astell& kern sa700.drivers and bios are up to date.all possible power saving function are disabled(w10 home, fritzbox 6490.)

Have you tried to reinstall the ASIO driver you have?

We don’t see the sample rates supported by your device:

I have already reinstalled the driver several times, and tried different ports.tonight I reinstall again and send the debug info.

Usb Dac Asio driver reinstalled. Here is the debug info with more information.Had probably the wrong DI in the cache…

Does the issue happens with any sample rate from tracks you try to play from HighRes Audio?

Unfortunately, no album can be listened to without pops, no matter what sample rate.

Do you have the option enabled to use large ASIO buffer in the audio output settings of Audirvana?

Everything has already been tried out: on or off makes no difference

If you try with a different ASIO driver like ASIO4ALL, do you have the same issue?

I’ve already tried that, but no success.
HRA streaming works on my UPnP device, with the same ASIO driver (without Pops).

One more thing to try is to set it to non-MQA and check how that works.

The pops are less, but not gone with this setting.dsd upsampling has been the only thing that has eliminated the pops.the native stream sounds better than with dsd processed.is there a recommendation for the dsd upsampling settings?the HRA stream should remain as true to the original as possible.

Not really. There could also be an issue with the device itself. Have you tried to play the MQA files with another software.

From the hard drive I can play EVERYTHING.Very strange…I’ll continue listening offline for now(or with upsampling). Thanks for the support.
