You would like to know more about upsampling?

@Antoine,

I would like to understand whether you (Audrivana) recommends us to just accept the default (Maximum Device Frequency) or whether it’s worth playing around with other choices.

My advice is: choose a good recording (for example a flac file). You can choose 5 types: jazz, classic, electronic, rock, blues. Play without upsample. Then try sox/r8brain and listen. Try DSD upsampling if your DAC support. If you don’t hear a (big) difference or don’t like what you hear then don’t use upsampling. It’s better to make changes to the sound / use more resources only if it’s necesary. And you have to be in a good mood and not disturbed when you listen.

Today I changed my audio seettings. Much better!
I realized that I don’t need any VST or ASIO mode.
So my new settings are (audio tab):

Kernel Streaming
Stereo, not NQA, DoP 1.0
buffer 1024 mb
Device Maximum Frequency, r8brain, 91.0 63.0 linear

LE: Just changed my mind.
And
Switch back to ASIO
increase buffer to 2048
Installed Voxengo GEQ and modified some frequencies to feel vocals closer, drums and instruments powerful and less “bad” trebles and bass

Conclusion? The perfect settings don’t exist. For many reasons.
