Strange behaviour, followed by a crash due to Segmentation violation (Maybe not related)

Dear all,
This afternoon, as usual, I tried to listen music using Studio on my main system in the living room.

First of all, I tried using the remote to change the audio device (I used another one in the morning). Apparently it made the change. But, when I tried to play a song: no reaction.
I open the configuration window and saw the message “loading” (Chargement in French) displayed as shown in the screenshot below.

I clicked on the audio device to change it and got this (Empty window):

I went to the main Studio I/F, not the remote, and saw that NO device was selected. Using that I/F I selected the right device, went back to the remote and … still no change.

So, back to Studio main I/F, I restarted Studio and then finally I was able to play something.

Minutes later I was listening to an album and searched for the next one to be played, using the remote. I got several “query errors” and was forced to restart the remote.

And, finally, after a few more minutes, Studio crashed with a SIGSEGV in thread 39… How is it possible in 2023 to still have such error (usually due to a non initialised pointer)?

Maybe I will go back to a previous version because this one is really painfull to use…

Version that this has happened?

The last one I guess: 2.5.2 of Studio.

The last seems to be the worst. There seems to have been a bit too much ‘optimization’ without sufficiently robust testing.

You could try a rollback to 2.4 That’s what I had to do.

Yes, that’s probably what I’ll do.
I saw somewhere a link to get a previous version but I can’t remember where…
I’m sure you know that by heart

windows version

Thanks @RunHomeSlow and @OffRode !
Yes, I’m on MAC.

I suppose I have to stop Studio, unzip and install the V2.4 and restart. I presume it will look for the DB at the right location.

Yes should be a easy transition back, I would put 2.5 in the trash first thing.
