Two copies, one library

Hi,

I have Audirvana running on a Windows machine and a Mac and my audio files are located on a Synology NAS. Each instance of Audirvana maintains its own SQLite database on the local machine. Is it possible to have both copies use one SQLite database that is located on the NAS?

Thanks!

Hello @louis_prime,

you want to do this to have the same playlists and favorites on your two devices?

Yes, and to not have both copies scan when changes are made.

You first need to note that for performance purpose, we do not recommend to do this.

You can make a copy of your Audirvana database and store it in your NAS, after doing this you need to change the the location of your database on Windows 10 and MacOS so it will use the database stored in your NAS.

To go to your Audirvana database using Finder:

  1. Open its Go menu

  2. Pressing the option (or alt) key, and maintain it pressed. This reveals the Library command in this Go menu.

  3. Click on this Library command

  4. In the Finder window that opens, navigate into Application Support, then Audirvana

  5. You’ll find there the file AudirvanaPlusDatabaseV2.sqlite (This is the one for Audirvana 3.5, the other is for the older version 3).
