Yes, but it’s always hard to make fully fair comparisons.
First of all, when using the MELCO alone, it’s connected to the TotalDac DAC via a dedicated USB connection, and not an AES/EBU link. And secondly, it’s always very hard to draw clear conclusions from tests not made in exactly the same configuration and performed at different periods of time.
Anyway, I found the sound of AS/UPnP/TotalDac Streamer better than MELCO.
I also tested an intermediate configuration where the output of the MELCO entered the reclocker part of the TotalDac streamer and found the sound a bit better.
