Using Audirvana on a 2019 MacBook Pro (not M1) and an external DAC?

I used to use a 2011 and 2012 MacBook Pro with Audirvana 3.5, through an external DAC into my HiFi or into my headphones.
BUT…I am just in the process of upgrading to a 2019 MacBook Pro which only has Thunderbolt 3 (USB C compatible) sockets.
Does anyone know if I can get a digital stream through these ports to be fed into my Topping D50S DAC, or do the newer MacBooks only allow the internal DACs to be used?
Thank you.

I have never had an issue with connecting a 2019 or more recent Macbook Pro to various DAC’s over the last 5 years via the Thunderbolt 3/USB C ports (Sony PHA1, Chord Mojo, Mojo 2, Hugo 2 or an Astell & Kern SP1000 in DAC mode). The thunderbolt ports are backwards compatible with the USB standard. You will just need a USB B cable to USB C (may be in the Topping box or if not can buy cheaply at most electronics stores) Each of the DAC/s have supported various USB interface standards all the way back to USB 2.0 and have not had issues connecting to the Macbook Pro.
