Using Audirvana on my NAS Synology DS218

Today I installed audirvana on my NAS Synology DS218 using the ARM-Version because the CPU is Realtek RTD1296 (ARMv8). But the iOS-Remote of Audirvana is unable to list the Music and play it. What is the mistake? (By the way: the Windows-Version works fine with my NAS.)

I`ll get the message: Pairing…failed.

Hi @Hans-Michael,

Do you get the pairing failed error when connecting to your NAS?

Yes, when starting the app for the first time after installing.

Can you please try to reproduce the issue with this test version?

Unfortunately the test-version doesn’t work either. For a moment some album-covers appear and then they disappear. The Qobuz account shows my playlists, but the can’t be played on my Linn, although I named it in the app as the output device. (This works fine with my Windows-Audirvana).

Ok, can you please click on the icon of Audirvāna Studio in your Synology? It should open a window, and there you should have a button to download the Audirvāna database file. Can you confirm whether it is here or not?

When I click on the Audirvana-Studio Button, I only get the message Audirvana is running. There is no button to download the Audirvana database file. There are only the possibilities “stop” oder “delete” concerning Audirvana on Synology.

In the presets of Audirvana-Studio on Synology there is the possibility to install packages. Is this what you meant? Actually there is no installed package.

Has there been any advance on this issue? I continue to have the same issues as described and am about to delete Audirvana - is there a plan for a workable version, suitable for a Synology install and IOS executable?

When you there?

Yes, I’ve been in the Package center under “installed packages”. See picture:

I’m very sorry, I meant here:

Opening the Audirvana-Studio Application and clicking on the appearing log file shows the following remarks:

Remark: The Linn appears in the Audirvana iOS-App although the log file says that it can’t connect with Linn Majik. (The Windows-App has no problem with the connection)

Yes there is a button to download the Audirvāna database file. I could download this file on my computer.

This versions runs on my Synology DS418! Some versions ago Audirvana core wouldn’t synchronise the library, but this version does.

I do like the clear page with instructions and the new explanation text in the app about inotify.

A 2Gb RAM Synology NAS is too tight for Audirvana, a 2Gb Raspberry Pi dedicated to Audirvana only (and no other use) works fine. A newer Synology with more RAM is probably a sound advisory.

In my opinion, This section needs to be clarified so as not to have to look on the internet about how to do this. I’m on it
