32 bit DAC recognized as 24 bit

Connection with external Audio Devices USB DAC

I’m running a Mac Mini in to a Cyrus 8 DAC (QXR 32bit/768k capable) via USB, but in Audirvana the DAC is only recognized as 24 bit.

Any ideas?

That’s because it’s 32 bit float value, which is 24 bit mantissa + sign, the rest is exponent.

Check the „Limit to 24bit“ setting. You may need to select that when playing 24bit files if it sounds weird.
