Again...no sound using Modi Multibit / Eitr thru 3.5 or Studio

Ok, once again (after also sending my Eitr back into Schitt for repair month or two back) I’m not getting any sound out of my Modi Multibit / Eitr / Loki EQ stack when using either 3.5 or Studio. My other two dacs / amps work perfectly with both programs, so I’m not understanding what’s going on here (again, as this has been a constant, ongoing issue since I started using 3.5 back a few years ago. My Schiit stack is connected to my Loxjie P20 hybrid tube amp, and after checking out the amp it seems that it’s working as it should. Also, I’ve checked all the configurations needed for both the Mimby as well as the Eitr (in AV and in Windows Audio Settings and they are all set correctly as far as I know. If there’s anyone who can help me finally get this issue solved, I’d really appreciate it; this has been a frustrating, depressing issue for a long time now, lol. Thanks in advance

Anyone here have any advice at all on this issue? I’ve now changed RCA, USB, and Coax cables to my DAC / Amp / PC, and have also switched USB ports a few times with no change. My PC shows that both the Modi Multibit itself is recognized and working thru USB. After adding the Eitr to the Mimby signal chain, the PC shows that the Eitr / Mimby combo is working and recognized as well and I’m able to choose either USB or Coax just fine. Also, last night while trying to troubleshoot again, in Studio I wasn’t able to play anything at all as I kept receiving an error saying “can’t switch to Interger Mode” which I was unable to find any settings for. 3.5 didn’t give me this error, but I still had no sound again. I’ve made sure I have the newest updated version of Studio / 3.5, so I’m not sure what else I can do here without some guidance. I really would appreciate any help a whole lot…

Please post your debug information here, so folks can help as best possible,

By the way, I’ve tried to remedy the issue by turning off all VST Plugins, changing max sample rate, mute during sample rate change on / off, turning on / off software volume control, etc with no success. The pc is picking up the Mimby alone just fine, and does the same after connecting it to the Eitr. Just cannot figure out what the problem might be…

You also tried without upsampling activated?

I sure did, man. I think at this point I’ve probably searched thru most of the threads here on the forum looking for a solution, and have tried really anything I saw that fixed any no-sound issue for someone. I forgot to mention that, with Studio (not with 3.5), I’m getting the “cannot switch to Integer Mode” with all VSTs, upsampling, etc deactivated too.

Can you send me your audirvana.log file at support@audirvana.com?

It can be in two different locations :
C:\Users[your login]\AppData\Local\Packages\Audirvana.Audirvana-[… id number that can vary]\LocalCache\Local\Audirvana\Audirvana
C:\Users[your login]\AppData\Local\Audirvana\Audirvana

to show AppData folder:

Connect Modi (only) directly to your computer and tell us if you get audio output…
Also, make sure your Audirvana playback stack is at the top of your USB bus hierarchy.

I sent the .log files to you at support@audirvana.com, Antoine. Did you receive them by chance?

Getting audio from the Modi Multibit only…

The question no one is asking is …Why are you using the Eitr ? That is a D to D converter, the Multibit has a quality USB input, just use it instead of the converter. The converter is also no longer available because Schiit feels it is no longer needed since they have introduced way better USB inputs in their gear. You may have a reason but just saying…

Hey there. If you look online at impressions / reviews of the Modi Multibit + Eitr, you’ll see a whole lot of them stating that the Eitr helps the sound quality of the Mimby in very significant ways. It’s a USB - SPDIF converter, giving you the option of having your USB input converted to Coax. Also, Schiit only discontinued the Eitr from not selling quite as many as they’d hoped instead of it not being “essential” or using technology that’s been superceded by newer, better tech. The original Mimby like I have came with Schiit’s Gen 2 USB implementation. Since it isn’t upgradable to their newer Gen 5 or Unison USB tech, I’m still using my Eitr (which is reportedly comparable to their Gen 5 USB itself improvement-wise). I wish I didnt hear the improvements I hear with the Eitr as far as sound goes; I’d definitely stop using it if I didnt, lol  :upside_down_face:
